The Aftermath

You’ve been right here and heard me snore
You’ve been away, claiming to miss me more

I’d hold onto you tight, just like I swore
Every time we fight, even worse than before

It’s such a big blunder, for me to ignore
Your expectations and the duties I bore

It seemed to be easy, the way you tore
apart our dreams, leaving my heart sore.

Half dead now, amidst the moor and shore
Guilty at my core, I’ve struggled to restore.

Bleeding to death, I’m still knocking your door
Awaiting you with hope, to forgive and adore
